How many fixings to hold a nose cone on?

My Mk3 Coupe nose cones (from an 86 car and an 89 car) both use only five big head fixings but both have positions where two more fasteners could be used. has anyone ever used seven fixings and do the unused locations conflict with the radiator brackets?

Mine uses five from memory.

5.....although I wouldn't bother fitting the 5th (in the top middle). Complete waste of time fitting that one. 4 is more than adequate.

As David above says the outer four are plenty.
