Cool, I've just realised that the thread title has been changed, thanks to whoever did it, I wondered if I could change it when I first saw my mistake but didn't give a second (or third) thought.
Incidently my wife was once offered FKU on a plate for a new Renault that she was getting but told them where to stuff it. She ended up with F49CKW .
Also our only ever brand new Mini was AWG59T, because of the 59 I always saw it as Alec's Wee Gem.

Re: C33 AVC Hibernating
Hi
I've finally got round to fitting these radius arms to a sub frame and I was struck by a slightly odd thought. Is there a top and bottom to variable rate springs or can they be fitted either way up?
On the car the tighter coils are at the top, but I'm the person who put them together and I can't remember if I was instructed to do it that way or I just did what I thought was best.
Incidentally if the consensus is that they can be fitted either way because it makes no difference would anyone be willing to fit one side a certain way and the other side different? (not that I intend to do this).
Also is there such a thing as spring paint? I'm using concrete floor paint because it feels flexible when it dries rather than something like Hammerite which I think is quite brittle when dry.
Regards Mark

Re: C33 AVC Hibernating
Latex paint is flexible it totally over the top springs are powder coated from new and powder coat is not particularly flexible as its baked on but I found spray paint did a perfect job on some springs on a suspended platform that takes a hell of a battering eg dropping steels onto for deliveries and such I have watched them bottom out and lost no paint in prob 8 months
