Radiator out ?

Post by AllanH »

Please excuse what may be a niaive question but am finding my way around the just-purchased MidasMk 3 convertible (that has been standing for years (literally).
Rework : Have just started into coolant system and am appalled at condition of some - thermostat outlet elbow dissolved to powderin my hand. A quick cold water flush of engine caused wife to go berserk at sludge trail on drive ! Loads of sludge/grit/rust in system.
Am concerned at condition of rad and heater matrix.Want to get both to Serck/Marston to check/pressure test. Have heater matrix stripped out - Radiator : can this be removed with engine in situ ? I suspect yes, probably quite awkward though ?
Any confirmation welcomed though.
Thanks

I've managed it before. Just unscrew the top mounts which are the pain in the arse bit cos you've got to take the nose cone off then I just took alternator off and slid the radiator out
