Front wheel bearings

Post by Rich »

I'm just stripping my front hubs down and found the car (at least one side of it) is running on ball bearings, according to the local factors there isn't a code for a taper roller set which I find a little strange as I've taper rollers at the back of the car.

Anyone know different?

off top of my head, 1275gt bearings are taper roller. They should fit.

hi rich,

none really. I tend to use my local factor, EK motor factors. Other than that try minispares. they are usually competitive priced, albeit taper rollers are going to be dearer.

For interest, the metro turbo didnt use taper rollers.

Kind regards,

David

That is interesting, I've stripped them down and cleaned all the waxy crud out and they are actually spotless underneath so I may just put them back in with a dollop of BNS and some new seals and see how we go.
