MK2 DASHBOARD VENT

Post by d.woodspeed »

Sorry, it's question time again!!

MK 2 dashboards all seem to be different. My 1989 model has two slot type demister vents on top for screen, (Mini type),
but NO circular airflow vents, (which I note some models have).

In the middle are 3 rectngular gaps, bottom for heater controls, middle for radio, (I presume!) and top gap approx 8" x 2" for an air vent, which lines up with an outlet coming from vent behind bonnet.

My question is, to save me scrap yard foraging with a tape measure (!),does anyone know what the donor car for this vent was?

Thanks,
Dave.

James has a soft-trim dash like yours so may have the answer, I'm thinking mk3 Escort, all mine have been the poorer plain dash with the mini eyeball vents.

some rectangular vents were from a mk2 xr2 fiesta. certainly the rover dash mk3 was as that is what I have.

Hi, a late thank you for that info. I finally took a chance on a Fiesta MK2 XR2 vent which looks right. Hard to get hold of 'though,
eventually bought one via an XR2 website forum!
Cheers, Dave.
