Cam chain and tensioner

The 1275 metro engine in the Midas rattles a bit. Tonight , with the top down, it was kind of loud to the point of annoying.I could just turn the radio up 
(cheapest and quickest short term solution) but think I'd best sort it before something terminal occurs. I reackon it's the timing chain and/or tensioner.It looks an easy enough job with the engine in but was just wondering if anybody has any hints or tips?Many thanks
