R1 conversion kit for A series subframe

Post by manifold »

Interesting conversion kit from Lynx AE for a mini subframe so that you can fit a Yamaha R1 engine into an EXISTING mini subframe.....rather than get yours converted. This enables you to switch back to the A series engine if you wanted to. Comes with a reverse too.

A doddle in a Mk1 or 2 I reckon.

Sounds much more enticing than the pro drive kit!

Yes, and apparently they sell the cradle separately for 580 .90 plus the vat.

I am sure you could adapt the cradle to suit the metro subframe.

Half the kit cost is in the mini quaife diff any way..... Basically the near lsd diff encapsulated in a sealed tin can for lubrication.

The price of these kits are extortionate as you say Rich half of it will be this diff ans casing while the cradle alone sounds very appealing...

Allspeedengineering are only 40mins drive from me offering subframes for £650, I think a d series vtec would be squeezable under the bonnet maybe with some headlight modifications and the whole conversion cost kept below the cost of this r1 kit!
