Hello, i've just signed up to do some browsing as i'm toying with the idea of taking on a fun car as a daily driver - something a bit different - but still practical and useable.
The Midas Coupe certainly seems to tick the boxes - so here I am!

Hi Stu - to be honest I haven't looked closely enough at the differnet versions to understand the difference yet!
One of my mates is into his minis though, and I get the impression there's a very good support network for A series engines and mini running gear - so i'm thinking way lies an easier life?
I'm down in Colchester, Essex - but do go oop North from time to time!

I prefer the drive of the Mini based mk1's and mk2's and being Mini based there are less spares issues than the Metro based mk3's.
However if you're tall you will fit the mk3 much better than a mk2, because the floor is 2 inches lower on the mk3.

My car is ready to go its got an mot but no tax it's had lots of work done and new or recon pretty much everything new tires only done around 1000 miles since rebuild it a great little car but still needs bits doing to finish it off

I was in the same boat a while back and was pointed to a Mk2 which I could not refuse. I'm gradually making a lot of changes to it and am well pleased with having bought it even if I've not actually driven it yet but when I do I'm going to have some fantastic fun I'm certain of it. So far even stripping the car down has been an exciting adventure as I've got a lot of plans for my little car.
I think these cars are superb value for money especially at the moment, you just can not go wrong with them they are the best bargain on 4 wheels you can find in my opinion.
