turbo brake calipers

Can anybody save me? My turbo 4 pots are beyond repairable but looked on fleabay and the only ones for sale are collection only at the other end of the country. Can anybody help me? I'll be rebuilding them anyway so not bothered about condition as long as pistons move or have enough of the pistons sticking out for me to get mole grips on

Plenty of calipers on Ebay and they send them to you. I bought refurbished ones from Ebay as well a few years ago. Perfect in gold galvanized. Just make sure you buy calipers that fit on the vented discs. I can search my invoices to see what I paid and where I got them from if you want.

I'm in wolverhampton David. I gave up trying to shift the one piston so gave them to a friend who races TVR's then he passed them to a guy who rebuilds brembos who said the caliper is scrap. 1 guy is selling a pair on ebay but he wants £30 to post them and he's not totally sure of the condition so giving that 1 a miss

I was once told that you should never split a brake caliper, but I've seen these on eBay - if a standard caliper is easier to source, then one of these kits could sort you out.

Splitting them is the only way to do a thorough rebuild David. Done a few in the past for other people then sods law that it's my own that have turned out to be scrap

Yes, I'd agree. Can't remember where that advice came from, but I was very young at the time (early teens, i.e. over 40 years ago) so it might just have been my father, concerned about whether I'd take enough care over the job!

I'd happily do it now, though, if I had to.

I've just replaced both of my front brake calipers (ventalated discs) in which all the pistons were seezed. Went to www.cheapbrakecaliper.co.uk and got an exchange air for just under £90, inc postage though you do have to pay postage for the return pair. Very impressed with the units recieved, and the company have been very helpful and easy to deal with over the phone.
