steamy Windows

Well not actually steam but some sort of smeary film, not sure how or what but for some reason I can't go a few weeks without having to clean the inside of all the Windows from what looks like mist but its not, it seems greasy because wiping it causes it to smudge and smear, I've never had this before on any car including the Quantum, the wife's rav4 windows have never been cleaned in years and they aren't this bad, any ideas?

It almost certainly comes from the vinyl trim. I was cleaning mine yesterday - I use a proprietary glass cleaner (I think I've got Autoglym at the moment), wipe it with kitchen paper, discard paper and repeat several times then buff it with a clean soft cloth. It looks fine in daylight but the real test is in the dark...

Part of me thought it seemed to happen after I retrimmed the interior but never considered this, how's this happen then? I'm intrigued

may explain why the dor glass seems a bit worse than the rest?
anyone else get it?

I used to work for a company making noise control products for the motor industry and some of these involved plasticised PVC. When we had a job for Volvo we had to do a test in which a piece of the material was placed in a sealed container with a glass lid. This was put in an oven for several hours after which the glass lid was examined to see if there was any misting, which there usually was.

Are you aware of a cure?, maybe an interior shine spray of sorts?

Replace the vinyl with leather? I've just had the dash done in Alcantara but it hasn't made any difference - not that that was why I did it
