Midas Mkll - Make me an offer
We have decided we have to downsize as we are getting too old to do things we used to do. I am currently working my way through my workshop and garage.
My Mkll Midas will be one of the casualties as it will not be practical for me to move it (yet again) after we sell our current house and move into a bungalow.
According to the V5 document the car was first registered in 1983 and I acquired it in 1993 (I won't go into the whys and wherefores here).
The car is little more than a stripped shell but with engine and all four wheels in place. it will need to be transported on a trailer.
Any offer (reasonable or not) will probably be accepted.
Hugh

Re: Midas Mkll - Make me an offer
In September '93 I "rescued" the car with the help of Charlie Dodd as it was parked in a residential parking space in Milton Keynes and threatened with being towed away and scrapped by the council. "It only needs a re-trim and the materials are in the car" was a comment made before I collected it. A quick check when we got it home revealed the downpipes had rusted away with a 2 inch gap between then and the stainless steel exhaust system. Obviously more than a simple re-trim was required. Moving from Buckinghamshire to Suffolk and then moving into an old Victorian farmhouse put work on the Midas at the end of a long lists of jobs to do.
First three pictures (as limit is 3) Residue around bonnet is from the tape holding the bonnet on during transportation.

Final three pictures.
I don't know why the colour changed in this picture as under all the dust the car is black.

Re: Midas Mkll - Make me an offer
Unfortunately no one wants my old Midas so I will have to contact a local scrap dealer to take it away. It's going to take me a few days to remove most of the rubbish getting in the way. I've set this coming Friday as my target day for contacting the scrap dealer.

I have the V5 document and the drivers door is shown in one of the pictures I posted. I can't remember why I took it off but it must have been a good idea at the time.
I pumped up the tyres today but the back wheels refused to move. Copious WD40 overnight and I'll have another go tomorrow.
