Sub-frame with new suspension parts all painted up and ready for the engine to be installed.

32mm squared I see to remember is the correct diameter cable on a 6/7 metre length of cable to get the battery to the boot. This is basically equivalent to car body earth so no voltage drop. I tried lighter cable but that's the one that's kind to the starter. Balance bar...basically a KAD off the shelf item with a square plate with hole in middle to close off the servo mounting. Works a treat. Locked off for road legal use although it can be made cable adjustable for brake bias..

thanks for this info. I have decided against moving the battery after all, and as for the servo, well I have a newer one that came with the subframe, so I will probably fit it as I think the top of the suspension mounting will just squeeze in (keeping everything crossed) !!

With the bracket for the lower end of the damper being above the top swivel, was there much of a problem getting clearance between it and the wheel rim?

very good question DavidL, and it worried me for a while as I had not, as yet, fitted the wheels!! but just did so and there is at least 12mm clearance between the bottom of the damper mounting and the wheel rim - phew !!

Today, we managed to get the engine onto the subframe and both back in the car...bit of a faff, but we did it.

As I expected the battery box just fouls the top of the new suspension turret on the offside, but on the other side the expansion tank just clears it....magic - but more by luck than judgement if I am honest!

Next weekend will be start up and road test if all goes well !!

Just a quick side point,
those facet pumps are designed to push the fuel rather that pull. They should be mounted as close the the tank as possible to avoid vapor lock etc.

not entirely true I'm afraid. To quote Demon Tweeks: The Interrupter fuel pumps can be fitted anywhere in the fuel line
I particularly asked if I could fit them as a long pull, short push and providing it is fitted with the Malpassi pressure regulator, it should be no problem !!
Of course, the proof will be when I finally get fuel up the line !! so watch this space !
