Re: Choosing the right parts supplier
I order most of my stuff by minispares to. I use minisport for wheels (cheaper) and for there 4 pots brakes.
Beware that minspares has a lot of cheap versions of normal genuine products. The cheap ones are indeed cheap, but are also that bad.

Re: rear suspension coilover MKII
Do not buy GAZ dampers, the damping rate is too high I understand.
Protech may be your best option for a shorter damper, spring rate from 90lb/inch to 110lb/inch, 2.25" diameter springs.

I use this one's from mini sport:

I have modified them to support lower springs that i have bought separate from ebay.

Re: Mk 1 Project Zippy. Stand Up Again (and Swear)
I have mounted the seat on the car without the runners, this saves some very useful space around my head.

engine removal
Our trip last summer to Italia was very nice, but not for the engine
I have to remove it from the car to check it.
When i put the engine in, i did it with the subframe and lower the car on it. But is it possibly with a MK2 to get the engine out from the top? With the clutch on it?
