Radiator for a Mk 3 (convertible)

Mine is getting a bit choked and the fins between the channels are not there in places.
My usual motor factors either can't supply, or seem hideously expensive (maybe I'm just a cheapskate ).
Does anyone know of a source of rads for a Mk. 3 ie a metro radiator with kerbside outlet facing backwards and offside inlet facing outwards?

Thanks Wolfie, I'll keep my eyes open.
Nothing the right size available when I looked there earlier.

I cleaned the old one as much as I could in the bath, so much gunge came out!

Useful tip. If you have an infra-red thermometer (cheap and fun on the eebay), run the water alternately hot for a few mins, then cold. With the thermometer you can really see which of the channels respond to the change of temp, and which are obviously blocked.

Just did ebay check under metro radiator and there are quite a few companies selling new ones. Hope this helps

I looked at all of them, they either have both inlet and outlet facing toward the rear of the car, or are marked 1990 onwards, ie a Rover Metro. Do these fit?

This is the configuration on my car, pointing to the rear of the car, I'm sure, but just to be safe I'll dig it out tomorrow and check. I need to check it over anyway as it is due an MOT.

I've dug this picture out of the forum. This illustrates the Mk 2 Metro radiator with my custom Midas brackets. To my limited knowledge the Mk 1 Metro (up to 1984) had a radiator with the inlet and outlet on the passenger side of the car, facing the rear of the car.

It will save you one rubber bend because usually the RH upper outlet faces outwards and the hose has to make a 180degree turn. This one is pointing aft which is beneficial. Just make sure it is a cross flow radiator, i.e. inlet and outlet at different sides. The first Metro radiator had inlet and outlet on the same side and this compromises the efficiency

Alan, that's the way my radiator is configured (but without such beautiful bracketry).

The picture shows the mounting lugs at the edges of the radiator which is advertised as being 30inches (760mm) wide, my current radiator has mounting lugs 550mm apart, so I can't see it fitting the mounts.

I am quite sure my radiator is bigger than 550mm. I'll check tomorrow.
