I do quite like the look of the Protech dampers, but that is as far as my knowledge goes . I think I may experiment with those and also use run flat springs.

I've just put a pair of 110lb/in springs on mine, and by putting a ty-rap on the damper stem I found I'm hitting the bump stop. My ride height is 13" wheel centre to arch. I was wondering what it would feel like if I went to something like a 140lb/in spring?
I think the main problem with the Midas coilover setup is that the damper/spring movement is the same as the wheel movement, and there is not enough damper stroke available to absorb the bumps. What we need is for some clever person to design some new bottom brackets that lower the bottom mounting by 2 inches, then we can buy bigger dampers with a long enough stroke to keep us off the bump stops...Meanwhile, who's got a Go Pro and fancies fitting it under the wheel arch to observe the damper movenent?
