4 pots Metro calipers

Hello guys, could you please tell me what do I need to convert my Mk2 to 4 pots Metro brake calipers with vented discs ?

You need these parts

There used to be special caliper retaining bolts with a 3/8 thread and larger metric section to sit snugly in the slightly larger metric hole in the calipers, but I used standard Mini bolts with no issue. One thing to bare in mind is that they increase the track by about 6 mm per side (I think)

This kit, which is minus the uprights and CV joints which you should be able to reuse if in serviceable condition.

I should have told that I already have a set of Metro halfshafts, complete with uprights, calipers, discs, etc, but they need to be rebuilt (new seals, Stainless steel pistons, etc...)

Yes just the hoses and bolts, although standard Mini bolts are fine really. From that I take it you won't be using the Metro uprights? which is a wise choice as Metro uprights change the suspension geometry quite a bit.

I'm also assuming your car is already on disc brakes.

Nice one Chris. This is another option drilling and tapping out the bleed nipple to make a link pipe and then use a hose with a single banjo fitting.

Interestin idea, but, as I need to buy a complete set of braided brake hoses (the front ones on my Mk2 were more than old, and the rear braided hoses were twisted !), I don't feel enough confident to take the risk to drill my calipers incorrectly.

When I put Metro calipers on my Mk2 I retained the solid discs. Always worked pretty well.

Geoff, vented disc (that's what I have, if it was plain, I would use plain !) don't work better than plain disc, but you can expect less fading due to a bettter heat dissipation.
