Re: MKII suzuki 1300 gti 16 v conversion
The engine has to be put in a certain position , so the engine can move several cm to the left or the right .
Because of that the hood scoop was to small to let pass the cambelt cover , so I had to cut the scoop and laminate to the exact wide.

Re: MKII suzuki 1300 gti 16 v conversion
I was out for more than 4 months because of a stroke of a kickstarter who damaged my angle , I think I am at the age to stop motorcycling
The restauration of my Buggy Vanclee has priority at the moment , but sometimes I have to waite for something and than I work on the Midas .
I did some polyester work for the lights , it's not finished yet but it gives a good idea what it will be .
After the 2 lights comes a backplate

Why not buy something modern instead? Motorcycles have had electric starters for the last 40 years. I am 77 and still riding. Did a 210 mile run one day last week on a 400 and 175 miles yesterday with 110 cc,

Re: MKII suzuki 1300 gti 16 v conversion
I agree with you that we are never to old to do something we like .......
I stopped motorcycling at the age of +-55 years and I have had before a lot of motorcycles.
When I retired at 65 years ,I started with the conversion of the Midas ....and the love of motorcycles was back again.
I wanted an old 1 -cylindre and I bought me a restored Ducati scrambler 350 cc 1970 .
The 1 cylindre motorcycles are known for the danger of the kickstarter but if you know the methode to start and you have good boots .....no problem .
But I was so excited to start the engine ..........that I forgot the right procedure and the boots ....
Maybe I follow your idea and buy me a motorcycle with an electric kickstarter

Have you looked at the Mash range? They do 250 and 400's in a variety of styles, some retro.
