Cutting rear subframe for undertray fitting

Post by Rich »

Apart from removing the hydrolastic spheres and side plates do I need to trim anything off the rest of the standard subframe in order to fit the rear undertray. Although I haven't got an undertray as yet I have got the tank and everything else off and I might as well run the cutter over it now rather than take it all apart again when I do get a tray.

I'm pretty sure you also need to cut off the most rearwards bottom bit too.

I can't find a reference to it in the build manual, or any drawings.

It's in the coupe build manual, 11 inches back from the front bottom edge of the subframe.

10 minutes with a plasma cutter later, there's no going back now.......

It's not far off that Alan, but I've retained the top edge and rear mounting point. To be any more radical would mean dropping the frame off the car and I'm really not in the mood to do that right now.
