Cam chain and tensioner

The 1275 metro engine in the Midas rattles a bit. Tonight , with the top down, it was kind of loud to the point of annoying.I could just turn the radio up (cheapest and quickest short term solution) but think I'd best sort it before something terminal occurs. I reackon it's the timing chain and/or tensioner.It looks an easy enough job with the engine in but was just wondering if anybody has any hints or tips?Many thanks

Tappets?
A lot easier to check than the chain tensioner.

Checked the tappets when I first got it , all fine but thanks for the suggestion.

I'm with a minispares belt, partly down to less harmonic noise but also cos I'm installing megajolt so I dont want want any problems with chain stretch
